About Museums for All

The Museums for Allnational initiative encourages all Americans to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum habits. Through Museums for All, visitors presenting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)/Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards receive reduced admission, ranging from free to $5.00, to more than 1,600 participating museums of all kinds. Participating museums can be found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Find a participating museum near you or browse our full list of participating museums.

The SNAP/EBT program is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). USDA is following the non-citizen eligibility requirements set out in Public Law 119-21 “One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025” and has posted the following on its website for SNAP eligibility[1]

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025 changes certain eligibility factors for SNAP. This includes changes to the SNAP work requirements and non-citizen eligibility. We are in the process of updating this page with the changes made by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025.

All Americans, regardless of economic standing, should have opportunities to explore our cultural and natural heritage. As heirs to our shared historical, artistic, and natural treasures, every person deserves access to the museums, galleries, science centers, and cultural institutions that preserve and celebrate the American experience. These treasures of our collective heritage have the power to inspire, educate, and uplift us—especially during challenging times.

Any type of museum can join Museums for All —including art, history, natural history/anthropology, and general museums, children’s museums, science centers, planetariums, nature centers, historic houses/sites, zoos, aquariums, botanical gardens, and arboretums. Accessible pricing opens museum doors to all, helping museums serve their entire community. Museums for All museums provide reduced admission, ranging from free to $5.00, to visitors presenting their EBT card during all normal operating hours for to up to four individuals per EBT card. With a year-round open-door policy, Museums for All helps museums in all communities ensure that their residents can access museums and celebrate the great American experience.

Since the launch of the initiative in 2015, Museums for All has served more than 15 million visitors nationwide[2]. Museums for All is the only nationally coordinated financial accessibility program in the museum field, providing an easy-to-implement structure and the ability for participating museums to customize their implementation.
